Calendar Updates

Posted by nsouza on Jan 22 2021 - 12:40pm

The troop calendar of meetings and activities has been updated, so please look it over! The PLC decided to have Zoom meetings every other week, instead of each week, so you'll want to know which weeks they are happening. Also, we have some in-person activities and campouts scheduled: Two day activities in Feb: one at the park across from Mr. Johnston's house and the other at Casper's Wilderness Park. We've also scheduled our Rocket Launch campout in the Lucerne Valley in March, which will entail some rocket-building workshops beforehand.

Merit Badge Counselors needed

Posted by nsouza on Nov 24 2020 - 7:02pm

Parents, we could use some additional merit badge counselors for the scouts in our troop. You don't need any special expertise, just an interest and basic knowledge of the merit badge. You'll also need to fill out some paperwork and take some online training, but that only helps you know what you're doing! Attached is a list of merit badges that have no counselor in our troop. If any of these appeal to you, and you'd like to help us out, please contact Nancy Souza at nancysuesouza@gmail.com.

Sign up for your cleaning shift at the Elk's Lodge

Posted by nsouza on Sep 21 2020 - 2:43pm

Scouts, as a service to the Mission Viejo Elk's Lodge for allowing us to use their patio for our meetings, we need 2-4 scouts each Friday at 4:00-5:00 p.m. to clean up the patio area before their Friday night dinner meeting. Cleaning entails using an electric leaf blower to blow leaves and debris off the patio, wiping down the tables and chairs, and setting up placecards at the tables. All scouts are expected to take a turn at least once a quarter, ff not more. Please click on the Sign-up Genius link below to sign up for your shift.
